Bacon Wrapped Smokies -- Little smokies, I usually blend the brown sugar with a little water, seems to taste better and not be as clumpy.

.INGREDIENTS

1 pound sliced bacon, cut into thirds

1 (14 ounce) package beef cocktail wieners

3/4 cup brown sugar, or to taste

..DIRECTIONS

1.Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).

2.Refrigerate 2/3 of the bacon until needed. It is easier to wrap the wieners with cold bacon. Wrap each cocktail wiener with a piece of bacon and secure with a toothpick. Place on a large baking sheet. Sprinkle brown sugar generously over all.

3.Bake for 40 minutes in the preheated oven, until the sugar is bubbly. To serve, place the wieners in a slow cooker and keep on the low setting. An actual recipe for a dish to bring to a potluck?

Taco Chile (Crock Pot)

1 Lb Hamburger Meat (substitute turkey if you like)

1 15 oz can Black Beans

1 15 oz can corn

2 15 oz can mexican style stewed tomatoes

1 pkg Taco Spice

Fry ground beef and drain off fat. Place ground beef in crock pot.

Open and rinse black beans and add to crock pot.

Open and drain corn and add to crock pot. (I usually only drain off half of juice).

Open tomatoes and chop them up a bit before putting into crock pot. Do not drain. (I usually chop them up in food processor as I don't like big chunks).

Open taco spice (mild or spicy) and dump into crock pot.

Mix all together with big spoon.

Let simmer all day on low or for several hours and serve with corn bread.

Yum!
